High power AMC
High-Power AMC/Sources feature about 10dB more output power in comparison to Broadband AMC/Sources, but in a limited frequency band.Typically, the frequency bandwidth of ACST high-power AMC/Sources is about 15-18%.
These are dedicated for customized applications where frequency band is not critical, but output power is important. These AMC/Sources are usually employed for imaging systems for security verification and nondestructive quality control in industrial processes.
AMC are called Amplifier-Multiplier-Chains.
AMC modules are meant to extend operation frequency of a microwave signal synthesizer or a sweeper to higher frequency range. Output frequency is determined by the multiplication factor (n) of the input signal, while phase noise degradation (with respect to the input signal) adheres to 20 log (n). These modules are dedicated for applications, where accurate control of the output frequency and phase is required, like are heterodyne receivers and FMCW radars for 3D imaging systems in security and nondestructive quality control in industrial processes.
